Please listen (no need to subscribe) to this very incorrect, very discriminatory, very divisive interview with Nick Allen, part of Josh Henges failed attempts at solving houselessness in Kansas City, MO by pointing fingers at those actually doing the real work. With grossly incorrect information, and an admittance of neglect by city services failure to correctly address a problem with a service provider or moving their client! If you, as a caseworker, knowingly ignored the needs of your client and visibly watched their decline (especially to the point of suicide over a period of months), yet didn't contact the agency responsible for their care, didn't work to move them somewhere where their needs could be addressed. You have failed your client, knowing there was other help out there, and then the two of them DARE to point fingers at underfunded, understaffed non profits, already making every penny count. These non profits save hundreds of lives each year, but are constrained by city and federal compliance, and restricted to only providing certain services. Still they make things happen, and while changesdo need to happen, they need to start happening at the city level first.
Let's get someone in here that listens to the voice of the houseless and works with those trying to help, to provide better solutions and save lives.
