Unfortunately, there has been a wreck 6 days after the new traffic signs were put into place. As many people know, it's the human adaptivity of driving along as you always have, not stopping at the intersection, and going through as usual. We all know it is there now, and we must pay attention. Many people who are traveling through, wouldn't expect a 4-way stop on a 55mph road. Always remember, even if you are obeying the traffic laws, best thing is to make sure whoever is coming the other 3 ways, has slowed down to almost a complete stop before pulling out. The plan is as stated in the petition, to try and get the signs either removed or replaced with a blinking light. The blinking light would slow down traffic enough to make them pay attention to the (hopefully soon) installed permanent stoplight at the High School intersection.
