Remaster the FF XIII Trilogy for new generation platforms
The Issue
In the realm of RPGs, few experiences have left as lasting an impression on me as the Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy. These three captivating games — Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2, and Lightning Returns — have enthralled countless fans worldwide, including myself. Their intricate storytelling, breathtaking visuals, and unforgettable characters offer an immersive adventure that deserves to be relived by a new generation of gamers.
Square Enix has already recognized the timeless value of other entries in the Final Fantasy series by bringing beloved titles such as FF X/X-2 and Crisis Core to modern platforms, yet the FF XIII Trilogy remains untouched. This inconsistency raises questions about why this exceptional part of the Final Fantasy universe hasn't yet received the same treatment.
The FF XIII Trilogy's compelling narrative and innovative gameplay mechanics can provide a fresh and exciting experience on today's advanced consoles. A remastered edition would not only rekindle nostalgia for longtime fans but also introduce this iconic series to newcomers who may have never experienced its charm before.
From the original release on PS3 and Xbox 360, the series promised technical brilliance and creative artistry. With today's technology, imagine what could be achieved — improved graphics, refined audio, optimized mechanics — welcoming a whole new audience while satisfying the veterans.
Data shows that remasters can revitalize interest and drive significant sales. The Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster has sold over 2 million copies worldwide since its re-release, demonstrating a clear appetite for such projects. FF XIII Trilogy, with its already dedicated fanbase, exhibits strong potential for similar success.
In appealing to Square Enix, we're requesting not just a product but an opportunity to celebrate and preserve a vital chapter in gaming history. Let’s show Square Enix that we, the fans, are eager, supportive, and ready to embrace a remaster of the FF XIII Trilogy.
Join me in urging Square Enix to make this long-awaited dream a reality. Sign the petition to bring the FF XIII Trilogy to new generation platforms.
