We need to put the weight on the local authorises, not just in Portsmouth but through the country, to prioritise wildlife protection in our towns and cities, particularly with the rise in wildlife crime and animal abuse. 

We must not rely on underfunded charities to conduct the work of the local authority, in these instances councils must place ethics and morals above that of financial gains.
