UPDATE: CONSENT GRANTED FOR BUILD AT MCGAZZALAND - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

We have a very upsetting update to post. 

Fortysouth have decided to go ahead with the 5G Tower at McGazzaland, Wakefield. 

We are getting ready to make some noise about this construction being built and we will be hosting a public meeting at McGazzaland in Wakefield at 2pm on Saturday the 27th May 2023. This will be a family friendly event and one where all opinions can be heard. We have speakers coming to inform everyone about different aspects of the tower going up. 

Yes, they may have stated that they are constructing this already - but we cannot let this deter us from trying to stop this facility from being constructed.

We are against the construction of this Communications Facility due to physical, emotional and aesthetical effects it will have on the community of Wakefield as well as the physical health and safety aspects. There is a majority of the community here that are not happy with this facility being constructed, in what is essentially a playground and kids/youth hang out area.

For those who are not aware of where exactly this is going to be constructed, it will be on the very corner of the entrance to McGazzaland (Opposite the water treatment plant), in front of the small existing wooden fence, approx. 5-6 meters from the half pipe at the entrance, and will be 15 meters tall. 

McGazzaland has brought many different people to Wakefield helping to better businesses and tourist spots around the area and communication about this facility needs to be brought to the attention of the community of Wakefield and further communities - all opinions are valid and people have a right to be able to feel that they are being heard about a matter that impacts an entire community and further. 

This is a family friendly event so bring a chair and a picnic and enjoy the area.

Let's get more signatures and get this stopped! Many voices cannot be ignored.
