Dear Supporters,

Thank you for adding your voice to the call for action on the Brechin East Rail Crossing.

Despite 884 petition signatures, Ramara Council refused to declare the crossing a safety concern. Over the winter, Councillor Sherri Bell brought forward a resolution to trigger key CN Grade Crossing Safety regulations, but it was defeated in a 2-4 vote:

✅ Ayes: Councillor Sherri Bell, Councillor Joe Gough
❌ Nays: Mayor Basil Clarke, Deputy Mayor Keith Bell, Councillor Jennifer Fisher, Councillor Dana Tuju

This decision ignores public safety risks, blocked emergency routes, and economic harm to local businesses. Why not act when there is no risk in doing so? Why not take action when there’s no cost to Ramara for CN to investigate a solution?

This is not the end. We encourage you to email Ramara Council and ask:
📩 Why did you vote against 884 residents?
📩 What actions will you take to find solutions?

Your advocacy matters. Let’s keep pushing for accountability about our collective safety.

Thank you.
