Christophe Gans Confirms Audio Issues on Return to Silent Hill Blu-ray

Christophe Gans has addressed growing concerns about the U.S. home release of Return to Silent Hill, confirming that an unauthorized alternate audio mix he had previously rejected was mistakenly used on the Blu-ray version.
This has resulted in noticeable voice-over issues. Gans emphasized that the theatrical cut, which was finalized with editor Sébastien Prangère and the sound team, represents the intended version of the film. Investigations are currently underway to determine how the incorrect mix was distributed. While some streaming versions reportedly feature the proper audio, inconsistencies remain, prompting efforts to alert international distributors and correct the problem.
In response, fans have rallied around the situation, advocating for a fixed release and the “Gans Cut,” which would restore Eddie’s death, previously cut from the film, and showcase the director’s full atmospheric vision with extended scenes.
