Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) has officially received RDW approval in the Netherlands – the FSD rollout in Europe has begun!

After more than 18 months of rigorous testing, documentation, and close collaboration between Tesla and the Dutch vehicle authority (RDW), the long-awaited type approval for FSD Supervised (under UN R-171 with Article 39 exemptions) has been granted on April 10, 2026.

This historic milestone means:
- FSD Supervised can now be activated and used in the Netherlands via a simple over-the-air software update.
- The Dutch national approval opens the door for rapid mutual recognition by other EU countries.
- A broader EU-wide rollout is anticipated as early as this summer.

FSD Supervised is an advanced driver assistance system. The driver remains fully responsible and must stay attentive at all times. Trained on billions of real-world miles, it has already demonstrated its potential to make roads safer wherever it is available.

A massive thank you to every single one of the 20,000+ supporters who signed and shared this petition. Your voices kept the momentum alive, showed strong public demand, and contributed to keeping this important topic on the agenda. This win belongs to all of us.

The wait is finally over for Dutch Tesla owners, and the rest of Europe is next. Safer, smarter driving is coming to our roads.

We did it! 🚀
