First, thank you to the nearly 5,500 of you who have signed our petition at the time of this update. In just a few short days we have joined our voices to say detaining Layan and her student colleagues for exercising their rights of free expression and assembly is wrong.

We aren't sure why, or what the impact will be, but we have news that Layan will appear in court tomorrow, and not later in the month as previously scheduled. 

We will try to update you as we receive further information, but NOW is the time to redouble our call for the release of Layan Nasir and her fellow student prisoners, Amany Jaradat, Anagam Awad, Mona Qaadan, Ruba Assi and Shatha Al-Taweel.
