Important update for supporters

Good morning,
We are very excited to have reached 291 signatures on our petition demanding release of the full, unredacted body camera footage in the racially-biased excessive-force shooting of Rodney Wilson by WPD and NHSO on August 21, 2026.
Rodney, his family, and myself are incredibly grateful for the love, support, and prayers from both the Wilmington community and also from folks nationwide. Rodney's grandmother expected compassion, understanding, and support when she dialed 911 in August for assistance with Rodney who was in the midst of a severe mental health crisis. Instead of compassion and understanding, she got a racially-biased firing squad. This firing squad almost ended her grandson's life. By the Grace of God, Rodney survived this brutal attempted-execution. He faces a daunting physical recovery and a steep legal battle in the weeks and months ahead.
Due to some recent developments, I will be stepping back from my public and social media discussions of the Rodney Wilson case. This is NOT because I have given up on the cause or because I want to. There have been some developments way above me and well outside of my control that make continued public discussion dangerous for me. So, for the foreseeable future, I will cease & desist public discussion and social media content of the Rodney Wilson incident.
When all is said and done--and we achieve justice for Rodney Wilson in his brutal, near-execution by racist WPD and NHSO--boy, do I have a story to tell you. The level of corruption in the Wilmington, NC, city government is without parallel. I have lived in some cities with corrupt city government before (Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD, for example), but in my 42 years, I have NEVER seen anything on the level of what is happening currently here in Wilmington, NC. Our elected officials are failing us. Full stop. I look forward to publicly sharing ALL about these issues in the future.
For now, please know that we are still working diligently to get justice for Rodney Wilson. We demand the immediate release of the full, unredacted body cam footage. The public--whose confidence and trust in local law enforcement is eroding due to several recent instances of racially-biased, brutal excessive-uses-of-force-deserves to determine for themselves if the official narrative aligns with the objective truth of the body camera footage. Bystander accounts and audio from a nearby Ring camera cast serious doubt on the police narrative.
Please continue to share our petition near and far. And please continue to discuss with your friends and family both in Wilmington and elsewhere what is happening here in Wilmington, NC. Keep Rodney and his family--and our whole community--in your prayers.
God bless you!
