Who could have thought that the Hunger Games’ fan base runs so deep that we are now 27,000 signatures strong in asking for an extended/director’s cut of the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I’m confident that if Lionsgate hasn’t heard of our request by now, they will take notice soon! We continue to pick up steam; Even Screen Rant noticed us, posting an article regarding our petition yesterday.
Unfortunately, my personal efforts to contact Lionsgate haven’t been as effective as I originally hoped they would be. After trying to contact them by social media and email with no response, I reached out to some of the cast and crew of the film (many of whom were quite kind and even supported the cause)! However, we have yet to receive news one way or another from Lionsgate; They haven’t even put the rumour to rest of whether there is enough cut footage to warrant an extended version of the film.
I am ready to enact my Plan B of getting Lionsgate to notice us, and it involves you! I am hoping you can respectfully share the petition and tag Lionsgate on social media.
Additionally or alternatively, you can reach the director, Francis Lawrence on social media to make sure our request is well communicated.
Thank you all for your continued respectful pressure on Lionsgate to show that we loved what we saw, but we want even more!
And finally, if anyone who signed has connections, or knows someone in the industry with connections, talking them up could go a long way.
Sincerely,
Kevan Henshaw
