Hi everyone,

Thanks again so much for your support. In just one week we have received over 400 signatures of support and been featured in the Bournemouth Echo.

The petition was highlighted with a formal response from the Trust. “Twynham Learning does not believe that a uniform change in line with Department of Education guidance (last updated April 2024) to be a newsworthy story.” which when the Govenment guidance encourages parental consultation is very disappointing.

However there have been some brilliant outcomes this week:

1. We have also received support from Southbourne West Councillor and Ex- Headteacher Jeff Hanna who has written directly to the trust asking for the evidence that the government guidelines have been followed and what evidence there is that children of this age range are required to wear ties improves their academic performance.

2. An Occupational Therapist from SchoolOT has also written specifically to the Governors and Head Teachers about the impact of children with sensory sensitivity, physical challenges, reasonable adjustments, and inclusivity. Something that has been mentioned many times in the comments below and, is a key argument to oppose the new uniform policy.

Sadly The Trust, SIS or SJS have not responded to those who've sent letters, asked questions or evidence. For all the families of SIS and SJS, we continue to push on until we receive the evidence and answers that we deserve.

Thanks again,
