Dear petition signees,

At around 5 o'clock today, I received an email from the UWA representative for TISC stating that the removal of ATAR bonus points is pushed back to at least 2027. This information can also be found on the TISC website. While this is excellent news for all the current Year 10s who want to do Specialist Maths, Methods, Applications, or LOTE, we should continue to fight for this right for the Year 9s and below.

While the battle is over for Year 10s, it is critical to understand how a petition works. This petition has proven that in numbers comes strength, but it is vital to understand that a petition can only work if people who are not affected sign it. For that, I would like to thank every person, especially non-Year 10s, for signing the petition. But Year 10s, please, please do understand that this change could not have only occurred if people who were not affected did not sign the petition. So, return the favour to people who are in Year 9 or below, the parents, and teachers who will still feel the impact of the decision, and don't turn your back on this petition and its cause.
