The Board of Directors has reviewed your email. At the outset, we would like to note that the role of the Board of Directors is one of governance, to set the objectives of the School and the Foundation as well as the strategies to achieve these objectives, in line with our mission and values, without being involved in the day-to-day operations.
In line with the school’s strategic plan, the Board of Directors approved a reorganization of the school team which created the position of Director of Student Services and Mission for the reasons mentioned in the email sent to the school team and to the parents by Ms. Viens a few weeks ago. For further clarity, the need for this reorganization came from an analysis of the needs of our students and staff, a study of the best strategies to adopt in order to meet these needs, and the review of the models experienced in other schools having added such a leadership position to their team. The main driver for this decision is the need to support our team of professionals in dealing with the new reality of the increasing special needs of our students in today’s world. The implementation of this reorganization is the responsibility of Ms. Viens, in her capacity as Principal of the school, and she has our full support.
Rest assured that we understand your disappointment to see Mr. De Biasi leave the school. We want to emphasize that this decision is an organizational restructuring and it is not personal against any employee. We are supporting Mr. De Biasi in his search for a new career path, given that his employment contract with EBNDS will end on June 30.
