The latest set of figures for government borrowing, published today, shows the UK running its largest monthly budget surplus since records began. One leading analyst noted that the chancellor has a 'headroom' of around £15 billion ahead of the Spring Budget in March 2024.
Despite this surplus, there are still no plans to reinstate cost of living support to disabled people across the UK.
The immediate reinstatement of the Disability Cost of Living Payment to 6.1 million would only cost around £1 billion. Hence, this is more than achievable for the government. It is imperative that politicians are made aware of this cause as this helps us to apply pressure on the Treasury.
