As we move into 2026......

A belated Happy New Year to you!

You are all aware of the issues in the Autumn over the siting of the Mobile Breast Screening Unit at Westbury for Avenue Surgery patients. Cllr Liz Lee and I are most grateful to everyone who signed the petition - here and on the paper versions - now standing at well over a thousand signatories. The Town Councillors have received an assurance from NHS England that Cllr Lee will be involved in an Equality Impact Assessment for the 2028 programme. While this engagement is welcome, we need to remember the way that NHS England stubbornly defended its 2025 decision using spurious and opaque data, the sources of which they refused to share. 

We believe that the ladies of Warminster deserve better and we are seeking earlier involvement of Cllr Lee in the setting of the programme and certainly before any decisions on future locations for the mobile unit are made. Until we do, please encourage others to sign - the petition.
