Security Returns to PPS Sporting Events

The statistics are astounding...Of more than 3,600 shootings citywide since 2019, about a quarter took place within a quarter mile of a public school or school building used for pre-kindergarten. About 10% of those nearby shootings involved gunfire between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on a weekday during the school year.

According to the Oregonian, "Superintendent Guerrero has said the district is considering reinstating resource officers to Portland high schools, and is currently gathering community feedback on the topic."
