Unfortunately, Reddit's silence persists. Despite multiple attempts to appeal and report, we’ve received no response or explanation regarding the removal of r/MJInnocent.
This lack of accountability is concerning, especially given Reddit’s inconsistent moderation practices.
A troubling double standard exists:
While Reddit suppresses fact-based, positive spaces for Michael Jackson, harmful subreddits like LeavingNeverlandHBO continue to thrive, despite the fact that the documentary is no longer airing on HBO after a lawsuit settlement with Michael Jackson’s estate.
The subreddit’s outdated name remains, further emphasizing this inconsistency.
Reddit also continues to lack transparency around banning policies, including shadow bans:

The Need for Unbiased Spaces:
With sequels to Leaving Neverland set to release, unbiased, fact-based spaces to discuss Michael Jackson’s legacy are more critical than ever.
We need a platform where supporters can have open, informed discussions without fear of censorship or biased moderation.
Since Reddit has failed to reinstate r/MJInnocent and continues to ignore our concerns, we are moving forward with creating a new MJInnocent subreddit.
This space will allow us to continue these conversations freely, without the bias or censorship we’ve encountered.
Our Demands:
- Reinstate r/MJInnocent – The removal of this subreddit was unjust and must be reversed. We will continue this fight.
- End the Bias – Reddit must stop allowing biased subreddits like LeavingNeverlandHBO while silencing positive, fact-based spaces for Michael Jackson.
- Transparency on Bans – Reddit must disclose how bans, including shadow bans, are issued and provide a clear process for appeals.
- Fair Moderation – Reddit must enforce moderation policies fairly, ensuring open discussions, especially on controversial topics.
