Emily Rohrbach’s response

I want to thank everyone who signed for their advocacy on this issue. While I voted to KEEP the Drag Queen Story Time with Jaiden Black as part of the programming for the Arts and Pride festival, I was outvoted at the time. I am glad to say that your advocacy and that of so many others in the community had an enormous impact and the council was reconvened and reconsidered the decision. Three of the four people who had previously voted to remove the Story Time changed their vote and ultimately the story time went forward as planned.

While I am upset that it came to this and it was canceled in the first place, I am grateful that the community stood up, made their voices heard and the decision was ultimately reversed. Thank you for your advocacy and using your voices to raise awareness and demand a just decision.
