Thankyou so so much for lending your support to this campaign.
If you are wondering ‘what else can I do?’ to try to get the key decision makers to do the right thing then
A) message some friends and ask them to sign
B) share the petition on social media and follow the new Social Action Somerset facebook page
And C) - probably the most important thing - you could also ping an email to your local councillors and some key people in Somerset Council to demand action.
All Councillor contact info is on Somerset Council website. If you don’t know who your councillors are pop your postcode into the ‘write to them’ website and it will tell you AND you can write to them from that site!

All councillors should be aware of the issue. Citizens Advice has sent a briefing to ALL councillors about it with a set of recommendations to follow to sort it out. The problem is the head honchos are not doing anything about it !! The current line is they won’t review the CTRS scheme till 2027!
Do copy bits from the petition for your email. Be prepared to not get a favourable response straight off.
meanwhile if you know someone personally affected please get them in touch with Citizens Advice and their local councillors for support inc to suspend demands and for exceptional hardship applications
let’s keep going!!!
