The impact of idling at California schools

Don't be Idle CA
Feb 19, 2020

The impact from idling at California schools is significant. Per school annually, it is estimated that 1,000 gallons of fuel is consumed, resulting in 10 tons of CO2 emissions. That is bad enough not just for concerns of climate change, but for the effect on children, whose lungs are still developing. And for the state's more than 10,000 schools we're talking estimates of more than 10 million gallons of fuel and more than 100,000 tons of CO2!
