Petition updateNew Animal Shelter for Fulton County GeorgiaUPDATE: Fulton County is Now Debating Funding for a New Shelter

We need your help.

The Fulton County district commissioners are debating whether a new Fulton County shelter facility will fit in the 2019 budget.

The district commissioners are considering several options, including allocation of funds for sprucing up the new facility. No amount of sprucing up will fix the fundamental problems with the current structure. We need separate rooms to provide options for quarantine and cut back on the noise. We need more kennels and much more space! We need space for the vet services to be in the building, not in an old trailer outside the facility (current set up).

The commissioners are meeting over the next few days to make decisions regarding allocation of funds.

If you are Fulton County resident, we encourage you to take a moment to call your district representative and voice your support for a NEW Fulton County shelter.

You can find your Fulton County district representative and their contact information here.

Thank you for your time and support!

p.s Here is a script you can use when you call your rep:

"Hello, I’m a registered voter in your district and a concerned citizen. The current facility was built to hold 80 animals, but now holds 400. It's an outdated facility does not provide a healthy environment for shelters staff, volunteers, or our animals. We are in urgent need of a NEW facility. Please let my district commissioner know that I want a NEW larger structure included in the 2019 budget. Thank you for relaying my message."
