Strange days when a historic Rochester building, and economic powerhouse simply *MUST* be destroyed to make way for... ? a $250,000,000 dollar Middle East Government Housing Project designed by The Bloom Development Corporation, or reduced to a "Green Space" which will defer the price of development back to the TAX-PAYERS. Who knows what Mayor Norton and DMC want, really... But a cultural and social artifact from Rochester's humble origins and past was ruthlessly and inexplicably CLOSED, SHUT DOWN, and disappeared. Many hard-working young people worked here. This business generated Tax revenue for Mayor Norton's Expenses... There were Sales Taxes and Income Taxes collected because of this economic powerhouse. Now, one year later, the heat, the electricity, and the security system are all paid by US... OUR TOWN. Also, there is less fun in Rochester, Minnesota, and far fewer opportunities for young people to meet and have fun.
