Hello!

I hope you are well.

Update on Truslove House

The council are still continuing with their plans to rebuild Truslove House, the first part of the redevelopment of Central Hill.  Those temporarily housed on the estate will not get a look in on the new estate, and neither will most people as the new housing will be out of the reach of most people.  Few homes will be shared ownership.

Protest outside Lambeth Town Hall, 4th June, 2 - 6pm.

Join us to stand by residents on our and other estates under threat of demolition.

Updates Meeting

We're planning an online updates meeting with Radical Housing Network and the other estates in the next few weeks.  Look out for it and sign up.

Historic England Listing

A team have been working hard to build a case for Historic England to list.  These include its first use of gradient calculations and it's fanned layout to hug the landscape.

Central Hill's design team was led by a woman grade one architect, Rosemary Stjernstedt.  Her unique style was to build it to follow the hillside and fit snuggly under the tree line, unlike this new building planned, just look at the picture.

An amazing engineering team, Arup also were instrumental in the making of the Sydney Opera House.

Support this Application

If you live on or near the estate, support this application by writing to philip.seely@historicengland.org.uk with your view on why it should be listed.
