Dear Supporters,
Thank you for your ongoing support. There is now an urgency to watch over the trees on site. They are due to be felled at some point this week.
Here is the application Savills put it for the felling of some of the trees on site. Please leave an objection.
Approval of details pursuant to condtion 31 (Arboricultural Method Statement and Tree Protection Plan) of planning permission ref: 20/01480/FUL (Redevelopment of the site comprising of the demolition of the existing buildings and erection of a part 5, part 7 storey building to provide 31 affordable residential units (Use Class C3), together with associated landscaping works.) granted on 29.01.2021.
Time is running out as this application with lose soon.
Please also complain to complaints@lambeth.gov.uk.
Demolition has been allowed to go ahead by council officers, ignoring thirteen of the conditions, such as providing the net biodiveristy, the carbon equivalent emissions statement, a new overheating study and others. These have all been put to one side. They would have made sure that the building is able to be built before tearing the other one down.
250 organisations have stated that demolition should be the last option but our Council just go ahead and do it anyway. #climatechange RetroFirst campaign goes to government (architectsjournal.co.uk)
The demolition is going ahead without all the paperwork for the new building in place. This contravenes the original conditions for going ahead with taking over the site. All the applications have been done by Savills.
