Today, I received the police report detailing the incident that took place on my birthday, October 19, 2020. Upon reading the report, I was overcome with feelings of fear, which caused my stomach to turn. The report served as a stark reminder of that terrifying night when my safety was severely compromised, and I was unsure if I would survive.

The trauma I experienced was so severe that I urinated myself, an experience I had only had during pregnancy. I have been working closely with the highly talented Alysa Higgins on the forthcoming project, UNLOAD RELOAD, which I find profoundly impactful. Alysa is also a survivor of domestic violence, and her work on this project is a testament to her resilience and dedication. Although it may not be immediately apparent, Alysa endures significant emotional distress while working on these projects, as she confronts her own trauma in order to shed light on the experiences of others.

I firmly believe that Alysa deserves more recognition for her remarkable work. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet her and collaborate on this project. Alysa Higgins I love you! You are such a bright light in a dark place!

I would’ve had more photos of the incident, but I’m waiting back on the Westlake police station to return the photos they took of my face. My phone was taken by Matthew Strimpel and all of my photos were deleted. Thank God I was able to access my Snapchat where I could get one of my photos and I also looked at his iPad and seeing that he kept a photo as a trophy.
