Hello everyone,
First, thank you—truly—for your support. This has been a difficult week for many of us, but I’m feeling more optimistic today. I just got off the phone with Evan Duncan, Winnipeg Councillor and Chairman of Property & Development, and I’m happy to share that a constructive dialogue has officially been opened to better support events in our city.
This won’t be an overnight fix, but after our conversation, I feel confident that meaningful change is on the table. One of the most important discussions is around moving inspections to happen when a venue is secured—not after the money is spent and the event is already built. That single shift alone could transform how events are planned and protected in Winnipeg. I will keep people informed on Fear's social channels as I have these discussions with the City.
Councillor Duncan and others at City Hall have made it clear: they want to see events like FEAR thrive here. Now it’s about doing the work together to make sure the processes evolve so they can.
Thank you again for standing with us. And remember …
“There’s nothing to fear but FEAR itself.” 😈
