Massive massive thank you for each person who has taken the time to read and sign and share the petition ❤️
Each of you are amazing and have helped me get to this point ❤️
I really am humbled by the progress made in just over a week
Your support has given me the confidence to approach women's aid and become a campaign champion. A service that helped me so much in my own journey will now be helping again but this time to help me help other women with their journeys.
Statistically over the Christmas period domestic abuse will rise and sadly a happy festive time can be a nightmare for others.
With the UK being in a cost of living crisis, many families will struggle with the financial pressure christmas brings
As much as we can all say christmas isn't the cause of domestic abuse, the financial pressure can fan the flames causing the abuse to get worse.
This christmas many families will be experiencing the joy christmas brings but many families won't.
Many will still be experiencing abuse
Some will find the courage to leave their abuser
And due to that
Many victims this year will have their children removed due to exeriencing domestic abuse perpitrated against them or trying to flee their abuser.
Alongside that many families will spend another year separated due to past domestic abuse.
For these reasons I have made this petition.
Families should not be separated due to domestic abuse.
Mothers should not have to face consequences for fleeing abuse and children should not have to be removed from their mother and their siblings.
The devastating effects of removal, seperation and the care received from the care system often stems into late adulthood, whilst choosing to leave families together and working with them to heal and be safe would be a more positive outcome, yet this is rarely done according to government reports, charity research and my own independent research..
This has to change
I am asking you all so kindly asking you to share and promote this petition as much as you can.
Numbers are crucial and each person is playing a major role in combating the lack of support available and the further trauma of removal after domestic abuse.
Thanks again everyone ❤️
