Today we arrived at the halfway point in our effort to reach 5,000 signatures on the petition to redesignate the Arlington House as a National Historic Site. Wow, 2,500 signatures is a lot of folks! Thank you! You are from all 50 states in the US and in five different continents. If everyone would ask just one other person to sign the petition, we'd be at 5,000 later today. The challenge, of course, is simply getting others to take the simple steps and actions necessary to raise their voice along with the descendants of Arlington House and those of you who have already added your name to the petition.
In addition to reaching the signature milestone we have some other great news. Twenty-six (26) more more members of Congress have sign onto the House resolution (H.J. Res 76) as cosponsors. That brings the total number to 32 cosponsors. I expect that number to continue to grow as word spreads of what we are collectively working to accomplish.
Stay tuned! In the next few days we will be sharing access to an interactive map with features that will allow you to see your congressional district, find your elected officials and let them know that as their constituent you want them to work with their colleagues in Congress to pass this resolution. I hope to share this app very soon.
Thanks for your continued support. Tell another friend or loved on about this project and ask then to add their name to the petition.
