Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart died on January 7, 2020, and to celebrate his life and work we want a special performance dedicated to him during the 2020 Grammy Awards, which will be held on January 26, 2020. Gathering the greatest drummers alive for a once-in-a-lifetime performance at the 2020 Grammys would be a fitting tribute to a man who changed the way generations approached the drums.

Neil Peart's work has transformed the lives of millions of Rush fans. His lyrics were anything but run of the mill. He told us stories, tackled historical events, wrestled with the most basic questions of human existence, and gave us a blueprint for living a good life. He criticized that which needed to be criticized and praised that which should be praised. His lyrics challenged the listener to do, to be, and to live. In short, Neil Peart was an inspiration to anyone looking to better themselves.

For decades, mainstream music journalism and award committees have snubbed Rush. They were denied entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for 14 years, and they have been nominated for 7 Grammys but never won, despite selling millions of albums and playing to sold-out crowds for 40 years. The outpouring of condolences from the biggest names in music are a testament to his influence and the respect he earned through his dedication to excellence.

Let's do it for Neil. Let's do it for Rush. Let's do it because it's the right thing to do.
