Authentic Community Advocacy has done it, again! We've reached our lofty goal of gaining 1,000 Signatures on our "Reconnect and Restore Humboldt Parkway Neighborhood Petition", and supporters like you helped to make it happen. Thank you, for all you may have done, to help spread the word about the inherent unfairness of the process utilized by New York State Department of Transportation [NYSDOT], in promoting its one-sided, narrow-minded, and 'tunnel vision' agenda to carve a tunnel into the already decimating NY Route 33 Kensington Expressway. It was and is a move that promises to double-down and further damage the beautiful and historic Humboldt Parkway Neighborhood, in East Side Buffalo (NY) Community.

Not only did NYSDOT deliver a Highway Expansion Project into our close-knit East Side Buffalo Community, the Agency also refused to furnish an Environmental Impact Statement, and claimed that its $Billion 'Cap and Stitch' proposal would not produce a "significant impact" within the Humboldt Parkway Neighborhood's, and within the Neighborhood's larger (surrounding) East Side Buffalo Community's, environments. The undemocratic and unorthodox manner in which a (relatively) small number of our East Side Buffalo Community's various Groups, Clubs, and Organizations were rallied to support NYSDOT's unpopular proposal, despite (all) the widespread and broad-based Community Opposition to the project, and (all) the known evidence that there is a high incidence if not Prevalence of Environmental Illnesses existent within the NY 33 Kensington Expressway Corridor, and amongst (past and current) Humboldt Parkway Neighborhood Households, and East Side Buffalo Community Residents, served to fracture the historic closeness of our East Side Buffalo Community, and has left many a neighbor pitted against neighbor.

If equity in transportation projects is a goal of the U.S. Federal Government's Department of Transportation, future infrastructure projects should arrive to local communities with an independent and official mechanism for filing and reception of Community Complaints. It is a profound disservice to Historically Socio-Economically Disadvantaged and Marginalized Residents, to find ourselves (yet again) unsupported in shaping and determining what is best for our Community. It is Environmental Racism, all over again!

One (Humboldt) Parkway Neighborhood, Now! Remove the Kensington Expressway! Humboldt Parkway's got to grow, Kensington Expressway's got to go. Highway Removal, not Highway Expansion! Go To EastSideParkwaysCoalition.Com
