A couple of days ago, on March 2, the Twitter account of Gilbert Gottfried replied to a post about the petition and said: "That’s very thoughtful. He had a rare condition called myotonic dystrophy type two." Sometime later, I noticed Dara Gottfried signed the petition!

I feel like the petition might be on the road to victory! It sure made my day to see it has gotten some progress and attention! Things got better when Dara, Gilbert's wife, acknowledged it!

As long as this continues, we should reach our goal and get Gilbert's birthday symbolized as a national day of awareness of muscular dystrophy!
