Hi all, THANK YOU for all the shares and conversation. I am so grateful to have the support of some wonderful locals!
I want to point out that the petition is certainly by no means personal, nor is it political. I can tell you unequivocally that I have absolutely no intention of running for any public office.
Solely and simply, I care about the Hall and our community. I am trying to help. I am not sure how advocating for better utilization and full funding of our Hall could be considered negative (though so was advocating for a new school!).
The Hall board are good people and volunteers; but it's time for the municipality to step up. I simply believe that we are missing out on so much potential and something that could be great for our community.
While election years are often a good time to bring about change, I have been advocating publicly for the Hall since 2023. This is not suddenly coming up.
Lastly, I have also heard that members of our community are now being contacted and confronted for having signed this petition, which is completely inappropriate in a free and democratic society and only emphasizes the dire need for change.
I will take it as a compliment that apparently those with close ties to the Hall are watching who is signing. Please continue to share.
