"On July 17, 2025 we attended the BlueNest Hearing for several proposed developments with the Board of Commissioners.
Right off the back Anthony Rodriguez completely disregarded the 1 inch red binder we gave them which includes the petition cover letter, over 2500 verified signatures, comments of petition signers, followed by 16 letters of counter signatures by local business owners and over 50 letters of opposition by the residents of where the developer wants to build BlueNest at Naranja.. disrespectfully disregarded by commissioner Anthony Rodriguez.
But what hurt the most was our commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins as to how she misrepresented the people of district 8 as not WANTING NEIGHBORS and throwing petty excuses as to why she approved all of the Development by BlueNest, which happened to be located in sensitive farming, residential and environmental areas.
More disgusting were those commissioners who sided with Cohen Higgins out of respect for her because she runs Distric 8... what about respecting the Constituents! You commissioner are in your chair because you were voted in by the people, yet you are using your chairs to favor one another and completely disregarding the residents of your district who you are presently representing.
THIS ACT OF FAVORITISM WAS MADE CLEAR YESTERDAY AND TELEVISED.
With a large opposition by the residents of South Dade present at the Commissioners chamber.. so many of us present there yesterday to speak while not all of us were let in and had to wait outside until we were called in to speak, and yet even with the large opposition the commissioners betrayed South Dade in the most obvious way.
What happened on July 17 is just disgusting and South Dade today feels more alone than ever.
