Hi Malvern Hills Pool Supporters,
Brooke and I were at the City Council meeting last night. The Bond amounts have been finalized and approved to be added to November’s ballot and voted on by residents. The Parks and Recreation Bond ($20 million) includes $3 million to rebuild Malvern Hills Pool, and we were assured by City Council that the pool is a priority project.
Please start putting out the word to your Asheville friends and neighbors that a YES on November’s Bond referendum is a YES for Malvern Hills Pool. The Bond will increase property taxes by $110 per year for an average home (valued at $350,000). In addition to much needed funding for Parks and Recreation, other Bond categories will fund much-needed Public Housing projects, Public Safety infrastructure improvements, and Transportation improvements (repaving roads and adding/fixing sidewalks).
Thank you to everyone who wrote letters to City Council, came to our rally, and/or purchased a yard sign or T-shirt. Together, our voices have been strong — if the Bond passes this November, we will see our beloved neighborhood rebuilt to bring joy to kids and families for another 90 years.
Warmly,
Sally and the Rebuild Team
