Hi everyone,
Thank you so much to the over 700 of you who have already signed and shared this petition. I have some massive news to share with you all—our voices are actually being heard!
Here is what happened today:
We met with the City Council: My dad and I met with Santa Clara City Councilmember Kevin Park right at Great America. It was a great, highly positive meeting! He listened to our concerns, let us know that he is still in active talks with the park and Prologis, and most importantly, he promised to share our community's concerns with the rest of the City Council.
We are going to be on the news! Because this petition is growing so fast, Devin Fehely from CBS News Bay Area reached out to me today! I will be doing a TV interview with them next week to talk about why saving this park is so important for jobs, our community, and Bay Area history. I will post another update as soon as I know when it’s going to air!
What we need to remember: Prologis might be a massive corporation, but they cannot build a single warehouse on that land unless the City Council votes to change the zoning laws. If the council listens to the voters and refuses to change the zoning, the park stays. It is that simple.
My ask to you: Let’s show CBS News and the City Council how much momentum we have. Can we hit 1,000 signatures before my interview next week? Please take 10 seconds right now to copy the link to this petition and text it to three friends, or post it on your social media.
We are making real progress. Let's keep the pressure on!
