Today's SF Chronicle featured a great piece from Urban Design Critic, John King.  He wrote about the changing "dogscape" of the city, as the demographics continue change and significantly more people are becoming dog owners.

Mr. King might prove to be an ally for us in the fight to re-zone Jackson Park.  Jackson's current inequitable and wasteful zoning feels incredibly antiquated in modern Potrero Hill.

To be fair, Parks & Rec are working on a redesign that will include a tiny, token dog run.  But in reality, it won't even break ground until 2026, and due to the scale and scope of the project, it likely won't be complete until '29 or '30.  (Consider the much smaller renovation at Esprit Park that is now pushing 3 years).

Meanwhile, dog users at Jackson Park are being verbally, and even physically, harassed by park rangers.  I'd encourage anyone who strongly supports this petition, and/or anyone who's been bullied by park rangers at Jackson to contact John King at the chronicle and share their story with him:
