Do you live in Wake County and still need to vote? Please join us for a casual bike ride to the polls on the final day of early voting. Great reason to bust outta work early on Friday (tomorrow Oct 4)!
These local municipal elections have low turnout, and your vote matters! Local elections matter - especially for Raleigh residents. ANY RALEIGH OR CARY RESIDENT can vote at this location during early voting.
The proposed RDU Quarry project has seen significant attention in the Raleigh elections. What better place to start a ride to the polls than at the Old Reedy Creek trailhead, within sight of the proposed quarry.
This will be a casual pace 4 mile each way out-n-back ride from the Town of Cary Old Reedy Creek parking lot to the Herbert Young Community Center in downtown Cary. We'll take Black Creek Greenway, some neighborhood roads, and sidewalks on Harrison Ave. to downtown Cary.
Arrive at 5:00, ride start at 5:15 so we have time to get there, vote, and get back before dark.
We'll have ride leaders to watch our bikes while you vote, so no need to bring bike locks along. Oh, and we'll have some of those cool "I voted StopRDUQuarry" stickers too!
When: Friday Oct 4 - arrive at 5:00, ride start 5:15
Where: Town of Cary Old Reedy Creek trailhead
