Hello friends of RDU Forest, time for action. This morning RDU AA announced a "special meeting" this Friday to discuss the quarry mining lease. Please take a few moments to again help STOP RDU from destroying public lands. There are better alternatives that both preserve the forest and provide income.
- Go to this Triangle Business Journal Poll and vote "NO" to a quarry lease.
- SHOW up on FRIDAY at 8:30 am at RDU AA on the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (located at 1000 Trade Drive on the Raleigh-Durham International Airport) for a gathering and photo prior to attending their 9am meeting.
- Send a message to The Honorable Governor Roy Cooper
- Call Congressman David Price at 202-225-1784 and tell him: You are OPPOSED to a rock quarry on PUBLIC lands next to Umstead State Park.
- Email your elected officials from the four local governments that own our airport. They CAN help, and they have the POWER to do such. But it's important they hear from their constituents about the TOTAL opposition to this quarry and urge them to help.

- CityCouncilMembers@raleighnc.gov
- commissioners@dconc.gov
- council@durhamnc.gov
In each case above, personal stories are excellent describing how you value outdoor recreation and Umstead State Park, Crabtree County Park, etc. Here are some materials to help if you'd like some talking points:
- The RDU Forest Solution which has been endorsed by NC State Parks, NC Senator Jay Chaudhiri, Wake County, the League of Women Voters, and many local businesses large and small (REI, Great Outdoor Provision Co, Trek, etc)
- TORC's recent letter emphasizing our opposition to the quarry.
Thanks for all you do, and for supporting RDU Forest!
