Last night, Kingston Council leader Caroline Kerr resigned
This petition and the fact that the fundraiser for a legal opinion about the council's decision to approve the demolition of The Kingfisher is quickly attracting support are likely to have been a significant factor in Councillor Kerr's decision
A week ago, one third of the Liberal Democrat administration of Kingston Council either did not turn up to Full Council or went home before a vote on a motion to delay demolition of The Kingfisher put forward by Green Councillor Sharron Sumner
This petition against the demolition of The Kingfisher is making waves
Please keep signing the petition and donate whatever you can afford to the fundraiser for a legal opinion. GoFundMe accepts donations from £5 and every donation is equally appreciated
We need to show our councillors and the council's officers that we are serious about holding them to account for the decisions they make that they are meant to make on our behalf
We need to keep fighting. We need to keep up the pressure.
And we must remember one of the rules of chess:
Games do not necessarily end in checkmate; a player who expects to lose may resign
Thank you as always for your ongoing support. Let's get a legal opinion as soon as we can
Caroline
