Please can you share the petition again with FIVE people who you think will share our concerns that the demolition of The Kingfisher is not justified and that it could leave us without a pool and all the other facilities offered by the current leisure centre

It appears that any demolition of the Kingfisher Leisure Centre may breach a number of London Plan policies. We must not allow London Plan policies to be shredded by our council when the ink on the London Plan has hardly dried

Please help stop the demolition of much-needed facilities for which there is no evidence to support the decision to raze the centre to the ground

A demolition of The Kingfisher may breach the following London Plan policies:

• Policy SD10 - Strategic and Local Regeneration

"Development proposals should contribute to regeneration by tackling inequalities and the environmental, economic and social barriers that affect the lives of people in the area"

• Policy S1 - Social Infrastructure

"Social Infrastructure needs ...should be informed by a needs assessment"

"5.1.5: Loss of social infrastructure requires a replacement that meets the needs of the neighbourhood it serves....A realistic proposal for replacement social infrastructure should be able to demonstrate funding, appropriate site availability and timely delivery of adequate facilities"

• Policy S5 - Sports and Recreation

Loss of existing facilities should be refused unless a needs assessment shows:

1. they are surplus to requirements

2. the loss would be replaced by equivalent or better in terms of quality and quantity in a suitable location
