Today, October 3rd, a silent protest was planned at the flagpole after second lunch. However, students were forced to not attend. They were locked inside with police officers at the doors preventing them from meeting out to the flagpole. The parents that had been there were forced out, we, the students, feel neglected and ignored. Many parents have been wondering if they should take their children out of the school. This is absolutely ridiculous, we should be able to know what happened, we should feel safe in a place that is supposed to protect us and educate us. There are so so many students that are scared to go to school. Principal Hickman denied the students feelings, ignores us and did everything to prevent us from being heard. How are we supposed to be the beat we can when we cannot express our worries and concerns. It was an awful experience, everyone has and will be on edge constantly. We are kids, we shouldn’t have to go through this, so why? Why are our voices being tossed away like we don't matter? Why are we being ignored?
