We grow tired of us gamers having to rely on only Steam. the digital distribution service, made by Valve has become, which most people believe, a monopoly. the company has taken over 60-65% of the PC gaming industry and its still growing as the years go by. Here is why we oppose Steam. According to the EULA of Steam, on Paragraph 10 Section C States

"Valve may cancel your Account or any particular Subscription(s) at any time in the event that (a) Valve ceases providing such Subscriptions to similarly situated Subscribers generally, or (b) you breach any terms of this Agreement (including any Subscription Terms or Rules of Use)."

This is unfair and in most causes unconstitutional for our freedom of choice because we cant buy it anywhere else other than steam and we have had it. Most people would say "You dont like steam because you never tried it", or the usual "It's very easy to use." All of these features that Steam provides is just a ruse. Another problem is that there is no way whatsoever to play steam offline. even if you change its mode to offline, people have testified that it still retrieves verification data for your account. There are many people in the world alone that dont have high-speed internet or any at all and that is also unfair. Its like you are trying to prove to a company like valve that you are not a criminal everytime you sign up, and that you dont actually own the games. its like you are renting then at your own account to use. but what happens when Valve goes out of business for any reason of that nasty employer removes your account for no reason at all, well then you are screwed. So Gearbox Software, we ask that you make a DRM free of this great game so we dont have to reply on a third party program to just play the game, as we have cherished this game since our childhoods and it will be sad and heartbreaking if you didn't do so. GoG is a alternative to steam. as you login and download your game and the best of all is that there is no third party program to install. Also they are developing a system where you can play multiplayer with friends on steam using GoG Galaxy which is a cross-playing system that lets you play people who have the steam version while you dont but still connect to them. Please have a heart and make us "homeworlders" proud to have a game that we can keep in our thumbdrives for generations to come.
