On January 15th, just hours before Gov. Northam left office, Uhuru and his team of supporters were informed that he would receive a commutation of sentence--from an original release date of 2076, to October of 2025! While we had hoped that he would rejoin us in the outside world sooner, we are still overjoyed that Uhuru will be able to return to his community, family and friends in a matter of years, rather than decades.
