The RFL is not fit for purpose after years of poor leadership and mismanagement which have resulted in the Super League splitting from the RFL, poor marketing, falling attendances, decline of the Challenge Cup and player and fan dissatisfaction.

Recently the RFL has faced backlash after asking the current Challenge Cup holders, Catalans Dragons, to pay a £500,000 deposit to enter the competition in 2019, as well as along other foreign clubs, Toronto Wolfpack and Toulouse Olympique, to do the same.

In a recent Rugby League World magazine survey in which 250 players took part, 77% said they had no faith in the RFL while only 10% were satisfied with the games leadership. 46% of players also think there is a problem with recreational drugs in the sport.

CEO Ralph Rimmer was part of the failed regime under Nigel Wood’s leadership. He also oversaw the failed merger of Huddersfield Giants and Sheffield Eagles (Shuddersfield) as well as over seeing the failed expansion of League 1 with Northampton, Hemel, Oxford and Gloucestershire who have all resigned from the league.

Sports administrator Brian Barwick is chairman of the RFL and Super League. He has previously been Chief Executive of the F.A. controller of ITV Sport, Head of BBC Sport and Chairman of the National League. During his tenure in rugby league he has only been seen at trophy presentations and has brought nothing to the game.

Firstly we as fans don’t believe the current administration is capable of running the sport and neither do the Super League clubs which is why they have appointed their own CEO.

By signing this petition you as fans of the game are being given a voice to try and change things for the better.
