After finding out the champion this year not only had a previous conviction of animal cruelty, with investigators reporting seeing " disgusting conditions" , the Kennel Club have issued  public statments that argue to say it was a minor offence and was taken into consideration and his record is since unblemished (despite conviction) Reporting him as a valued member of the community having raised money, and judged for them on several occasions.

We have therefore added (after 33 signatures) that all judges be held to higher standards that are equal to the conditions set out in the original petition statement, Judges must set outstanding example for the community, and holding convictions of animal cruelty, however minor, is NOT and outstanding example. We all make mistakes, this we understand and do no suggest such persons should enter into Crufts, but instead that those particular people dont be promoted as shining examples of dog ownership.

We are sure you are all aware disgusting conditions are not a "mistake" ,being caught in them could be interpreted as such on the perpetrators behalf, Prestigious awards and Judges Positions do not belong alongside these neglect cases however historical.
