Although the corruption and misconduct involving WAPOL was reported to the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC), the CCC stated that they were too busy to investigate the alleged fraudulent theft of NGO funds by the CEO of Funds for Community Aid Ltd, as well as the subsequent misconduct by WAPOL officers. However, in a hopeful development, the Parliamentary Inspector has directed the CCC to undertake further inquiries, as a crime has clearly been reported and allegedly committed.

In the public interest, there must be full transparency and a thorough investigation—not only into the original offence, but also into the flawed WAPOL investigation that followed. Why are police seemingly uninterested in stolen NGO funds intended for Ukraine, and unwilling to properly investigate death threats and internal misconduct?

We can only hope that common sense prevails, and that true natural justice is ultimately served.
