As per the statistics that is available The rated capacity of a 9-car rake is 2,628, and at peak hour, carries 4,500 passengers. The rated capacity of a 12-car rake is 3,504, and at peak hour, carries 5,300 passengers. The capacity of a 15 car local is around 4100 passengers but in peak time it carries around 6500 passengers. Most of the Virar Local Trains are 12 coach & some are 15 coach. So one can see from this that during peak hours, Virar train commuters travel under the most inhuman & stressful condition. Should we all continue to travel like this or should we not ask for a change ? Please think about this & decide. If we want a change & want to showcase our problem to the Railway Minister then we should try to get the maximum number of signatures from our fellow train travelers who are not yet aware of this petition. It is only then that our campaign will succeed.
