Elephant Gate Bridge Aka Saalkottai Bridge is been closed for nearly 3 to 4 months in a row now, and we still do not see any action,maintenance or repair taking place till date. 

It is an important link road for people travelling from Sowcarpet, kondithope, broadway and other surrounding areas. Now since it has access to only two-wheelers it has become very difficult for people using other modes of transportation. They have to take up either of the two options to reach the other side of the road being either Central route or Basin bridge route which is nearly 2-3kms to reach to a destination which is not even 500mts and the amount of time we spend to reach the other corner of the bridge is nearly 20 to 25mins which earlier was not even 5minutes.We the public are so harassed because of the road block. As such government asks us to save petrol but with this we are only wasting our petrol unnecessarily.

What is the railway minister or the corporation doing out there without solving a common problem which is a very severe problem for public ? Is it just to take salary for no good to public ?

If the bridge cannot be repaired then open a new shortest road for us. Also, If the bridge is in a critical condition then why dont you repair it immediately before a train below smashes into pieces, why such a long haul of road block without any necessary steps of repair ? 

Either take instant action of repairing or open a new short road for travel for public.
