Restore Internet Access for Julian Assange

On Saturday, October 15th, 2016, at approximately 5pm GMT, the London based Ecuadorian embassy cut off Wikileaks founder Julian Assange's access to the internet. The action came shortly after Wikileaks published Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's private speeches to Goldman Sachs in part 9 of a series of leaked emails between Clinton campaign staffers and John Podesta.

In today's atmosphere of seemingly endless war for profit, limitations on personal privacy and civil liberty in the name of national security, unprecedented corporate tyranny, and government corruption in favour of a powerful plutocratic elite, it is crucial that heroes like Assange who are willing to risk life and freedom to empower the public with access to unbiased information are protected from harm and repression.

On behalf of the citizens of the world who will be forced to endure the consequences of the upcoming U.S election barring the motivation to revolt, we are requesting that President Rafael Correa acts in his power to restore internet access to Julian Assange. By doing so, he not only to ensures the flow of information to the public continues unadulterated, but also that no harm has or will come to Mr. Assange due to his recent publications.

Senor Correa, you have acted bravely and altruistically to protect your nation and its people from the impact of global imperialism, please allow the rest of us the opportunity to do the same. By standing with Assange and Wikileaks you show the world that transparency and truth is a cause worth fighting for, and that we will protect its champions together, because we are not afraid.
